Audio Piece Reflection

The last few weeks, I worked on a short sound walk with some of my fellow classmates. Overall, I think that we collaborated really well and completed the assignment in a timely manner. We ended up doing all of the work together and the time we spent together was pretty productive. We weren’t always on the same page, but I think that happens with almost every group assignment. I learned mainly how to collaborate better. I also learned how to use Audition more proficiently and how to use the Zoom. I think our sound walk was too guided and I think we were too focused on one fixed idea. I would probably provide less written guidance and maybe think of a different path that the actual walk of the sound walk could be.

Storyboard

Bottom paragraph reads: Sasha is coming home after a long day and is looking for some company. With the help of touch, she sorts through a few options and connect with her ideal partner, Riley, for the evening. Riley shows up and the two enjoy a movie together. Yet another match made with Touch: tagline.

We chose to do Option A, specifically do a design fiction video. We got our inspiration after watching some of the example design fiction videos. We wanted to show a familiar story of someone coming home, going on their phone and meeting with someone, which is why we chose the close-up, medium and wide shots. We chose the medium shots when it came to Sasha’s movements, the wide shots to show overall scenery and the close-up shots to highlight the important parts of each scene.
