Task: Come up with a simple application for switches and LED circuits.

I had a hard time coming up with an idea to complete this task. I didn’t want to incorporate any coding or complicated hardware for this assignment because the task was to come up with a simple application. I decided to make a simple game, inspired by the popular board game “Operation”. I wanted to utilize copper tape so I started with a simple switch.

I wanted to make something a little more complicated, so I attached the copper tape onto a piece of wood and made a “game” of my switch. While the user is passing through the small trail of copper tape, they also have to be careful of the suspended wood piece. I decided to keep the piece of wood suspended in air, held up by two wires on both ends, because i felt that made the path a little more difficult. As the user is guiding the wire through the path, a motor will be running with a piece of tape attached to the end to create a sound/wind effect. I will not that the DC motor requires more voltage than an arduino can provide and it is not wired properly in this case (other parts would create a safer circuit, i.e. a transistor and diode), but I knew the motor would not be on for longer than 20 seconds and decided to incorporate it in this switch. After the user reaches the end of the trailer, they will hit another small piece of copper tape that is connected to an LED. The LED represents the finish line and that they have successfully completed the trail.
